I kind of took a year off from blogging. It wasn’t planned that way, but that’s how it turned out. And now I’m back - older, possibly wiser and definitely more married than I was before. Basically, it’s a bit of a long story, but the short version is - welcome to ‘Making it up as I go along’ v2.0.

This looks like it might be pretty good… It’s a new UK/US sitcom about the writers of a UK sitcom remaking it in the US (if that makes sense). Starring Joey.

You know that cheesy old phrase “you should never assume because it makes an ass out of you and me”?

Well, it’s wrong. Turns out when you assume, you only make an ass out of you. The other person has no reason to be considered an ass. Just you.

(well, OK, if you can prove that she’s actually set up her account and types all her own statuses and stuff herself, then I’ll consider it)

At the risk of sounding like some out-of-touch grandad…

I was listening to Kerrang earlier, and they were inviting people to call in to pick which of three Pendulum tracks (one from each of their albums) they wanted to hear. They played a clip of all three to help their listeners decide.

I swear all three of them were actually the same track. There was no difference whatsoever.

I don’t know, it wasn’t like this in my day / you could actually hear the words / it’s just noise / these young people today with their loud hair and their long music etc etc (delete as applicable)

Ha ha ha, brilliant.

Weekend in brief

- Excellent wedding.

- Bride looked beautiful.

- Groom scrubbed up alright too.

- My girlfriend was the most stunningly gorgeous bridesmaid in history (I may be slightly biased, but it’s still true, so there).

- Lovely church; beautiful reception venue (apart from the toilets, which were shocking).

- Wedding band were mostly very good, but they did murder a couple of songs.

- Not all that impressed with Premier Inn. “Good night’s sleep guaranteed”? Not by the side of a main road it’s not.

- Four and a half hour journey back is rubbish, although Dav, Aimée, Emma and me getting out of the cars to have a chat while we sat in the gridlock on the M26 made it much more fun.

- Stupidly tired now, but well worth it.

- Erm, that’s it.
